Thai Foot Massage is a traditional treatment that focuses on the feet and lower legs using massage, acupressure, and techniques rooted in Thai healing tradition. It is based on the idea of supporting balance and well-being through work on the body’s energy lines and pressure points.
Passed down through generations in Thailand, this respected healing practice is still taught today at Wat Pho, one of the country’s best-known centers for Traditional Thai Healing Arts. Because your feet carry you throughout the day, caring for them can have a powerful effect on comfort, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Your session may begin with the feet being gently cleansed or softened to prepare them for treatment. Lotion is then applied to the feet and lower legs before the Thai Therapist begins massage and acupressure techniques.
During the treatment, the feet and lower legs are massaged to encourage relaxation and comfort, while pressure is applied to specific points on the feet in keeping with traditional Thai techniques. The treatment is both soothing and restorative, and sessions typically last about 45 minutes.
Thai Foot Massage may not be suitable for everyone. Please let your Thai Therapist know if you have any health concerns before your session. In some cases, treatment may need to be modified or may not be recommended.
